| Marechal Under Attack! |
The numerous
Sodrovno-Voldachian and Mylosian law-enforcement agencies are currently in turmoil,
following a most bizarre event that occurred a few weeks ago. It appears that during a
visit to the city of Mylos, to discuss the purchase of military equipment, Marechal
Radisic was struck in the head with a book coming out of nowhere. |

According to
our sources, the Marechal was walking down from his airship when the offending object
"fell straight out of the sky", according to one witness, knocking down
the dignitary's trademark hat and stunning him momentarily.
How this
dastardly deed was accomplished remains a source of great puzzlement to the authorities,
as there were no other airships in the air at the time of the occurrence. |

Moreover, the landing spot
is located in an open field, with no obstruction and no place to hide a catapult or any
other kind of throwing device. It was also established that none of the few person
close enough to have performed this action could possibly have done it.
Unlike some of the better
tomes available, that could have caused real damage, this particular volume was small and
had a flimsy soft cover. The mysterious flying object was quickly whisked away by the
security service, but not fast enough to prevent some of the people present to notice a
large red "M" on the cover. |
This
incident is a source of considerable embarrassment for the Unique Industrial Consortium of
Mylos, and there are rumours that an official protest has already been sent to Porrentruy,
although nobody knows why this particular city should be involved. One specific individual
is reportedly being actively sought all over the Continent, but details as to this
person's identity are scant at the moment. |

De la petite bourgade d'Angoulême, non loin de Pâhry, on nous rapporte un fait
curieux. Durant quelques jours, le théâtre de la ville, muré il y a des années par
ordre du tristement célèbre Berthelot, a retrouvé son apparence d'antan. Les lourdes
pierres qui en bouchaient toutes les ouvertures se sont mystérieusement évaporées! Les
quelques téméraires qui ont osé pénétrer dans l'édifice en sont ressortis aussitôt,
épouvantés par de fantomatiques apparitions et des décors invraisemblables. La nuit, on
signalait une spectrale lueur verte. Après moins d'une semaine, les choses sont rentrées
dans l'ordre et l'édifice a repris son apparence habituelle. Il est a noter qu'il a été
impossible de photographier le phénomène, les émulsions refusant obstinément de se
laisser impressionner. |

Joies et
périls de la mer.
A notre grand regret, nous devons à nouveau reporter la publication de notre
numéro consacré aux étendues maritimes. Alors que le courrier du Normandie,
immobilisé dans la Mer des Silences, était transféré à bord d'un plus petit navire,
une véritable meute d'Octopus Obscurus est surgit des flots et s'en est
pris au navire. Occupés qu'ils étaient à défendre chèrement leur vie, les membres de
l'équipage n'ont pu empêcher l'un des montres d'emporter le coffre de la Poste dans ses
nombreux tentacules. La présence d'un tel animal, inconnu jusqu'alors dans cette région,
est en soit une nouvelle digne d'intérêt, mais il nous faudra tout de même reconstituer
les articles manquants à partir du début. D'ici là, nous souhaitons une bonne lecture
au céphalopode papyrophage!
